How to get the Hidden User Information List

How to get the Hidden User Information List

The User Information List can be accessed (Only if you’re admin) via the browser by navigating to /_catalogs/users/simple.aspx from your site.

Example : http://teamsite/_catalogs/users/simple.aspx

This works for both Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) and looks like this when you access it through the browser:

  1. Is this list a per site collection, or a per site, table being displayed?

When I click on the links of some users in the list, I find that the sharepoint item details page displays an no longer correct account name for the user. The rest of the information is correct - only the account name is out of date.

The machine is booted regularly. The user profiles are reported by central admin as running 100% successful. The stsadm -o sync -listolddatabases reports no databases .

In this situation, is there some action that should be occurring regularly to keep the account name up to date when it changes in Active Directory?
